Rest for Women with Cancer

Women qualify to attend this weekend if they:

  • have received a cancer diagnosis and are undergoing treatment, or have recently completed treatment
  • are physically able to move between rooms and down hallways to meeting places

Cancer takes its toll physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. A weekend of rest in a peaceful, safe environment could be good medicine.

We hold this program every year. Women must send in an application before the deadline. See applications. Note that we always give priority to women with low income and/or those who are single mothers.

Rest for Mothers with Children on the Autism Spectrum

We have offered this program for several years now, and have learned that raising a child on the spectrum is demanding and exhausting. We are pleased to be able to offer respite for these moms each spring, giving them the choice of staying for one or two nights.

Applicants must complete an application form and a confidential health form.

Please note that moms must find their own childcare for the time they are with us. We always give priority to women with low income and/or those who are single mothers.

Rest for Grandmothers Raising Their Grandchildren

To learn that you have the responsibility to raise one or more grandchildren usually comes at a very high price. Women who may have been preparing to retire or at least slow down now must raise a family again.

We welcome the grandmothers every year in groups that have women who have attended previously and women joining us for the first time.

Applicants must complete an application form, a confidential health form, and include a referral from a professional with whom they have a relationship, for example, a counselor, a social worker, a healthcare professional, a clergyperson.
Please note that grandmothers must find their own childcare for the time they are with us. Low-income grandmothers get priority in the acceptance process.
